Jamaica Buses Inc. is
committed to providing safe and accessible service to
all of its customers.
The wheelchair lift may be used by anyone who has difficulty
using the front door steps. All common wheelchairs
will be carried, including Amigo-type wheelchairs.
All of our bus operators are trained to assist passengers
with boarding and securement systems.
Our operators will offer writing instruments (pen or pencil)
and a piece of paper so that the hearing impaired can
communicate with our drivers.
There are priority seats located near the front and rear
doors of the bus. If an elderly or disabled passenger
requests a priority seat, the bus operator will request
other passengers to yield those priority seats.
Disabled passengers can call 24 hours in advance, and advise
us of their travel plans, so that we can dispatch a lift
equipped bus at the appropriate times and places.
Persons with disabilities may board any bus with a service
animal.
